A compilation of memory, myth, meaning, language, image, heritage, spirit, and sacrilege, all for the sake of discovering that which is or can be my very own self-affirming truth.

And you wait, you wait for that one thing
that will infinitely enlarge your life;
the gigantic, the stupendous,
the awakening of stones,
depths turned round toward you.

Quote reblogged from SEESelf with 2,099 notes

Everything is a self-portrait. A diary. Your whole drug history’s in a strand of your hair. Your fingernails. The forensic details. The lining of your stomach is a document. The calluses on your hand tell all your secrets. Your teeth give you away. Your accent. The wrinkles around your mouth and eyes. Everything you do shows your hand.
— Palahniuk, Chuck. Diary. (via wordsnquotes)

Is your name Luna?
Are you the Moon’s daughter?
Moon kissed child,
I see the moon’s glow in your
midnight blue/black skin.

American Bar Association Set To Welcome First Black Female President
Paulette Brown, 63, makes history in the legal world
Gerren Keith Gaynor
Another glass ceiling has been broken for women color, this time in the legal world as the American Bar Association is set to welcome its first Black female president.
Paulette Brown, 63, became president-elect of the professional membership organization, which consists of nearly 400,000. Brown is set to take office in August 2015 and will serve in the position for a year. Currently the association is headed by William C. Hubbard.
Brown’s election is significant not only because she’s a historical first, but also because in 1943 African-Americans weren’t even allowed to join the over two century-old organization.
